Bach One: "Boccie" is a 10 y.o., 15.2 hand, very cute, bay, sweet and patient guy. We adore him, and his wonderful personality!!! Very,very flashy looker! He is currently recovering from bruised soles but has been ridden quietly in the ring, stands for bath time, tacking up, and grooming. At this time, he is classified as a companion horse.

Information from the VICCTRE - Virgin Islands Community Cooperative Thoroughbred Retirement Effort website.

Metro at Teri Rehkopf's - his forever home

Metro at his 'forever home' at Teri's place in Keystone Heights, FL;
picture is with his VICCTRE ex-caretakers, Kate & Bo.

Panimetro:  "Metro" had won all of our hearts at VICCTRE over the 8 months that he was there. He was severely injured in a race on St. Thomas after a stunning career in Puerto Rico and St. Croix. He was unable to finish the race and came to us as a big question mark.  (He had won over $300,000 in purse/prize money in his racing career.) He has healed amazingly and is a wonderful companion for both horses and people. He is very playful and loving. He is trusting, quiet and a wonderful friend. We cry every time we think of him having another home. He can not be ridden ever again, and must have a stall to come into at night to rest his leg. It is never going to look normal again, but he does not know the difference, is happy and acts foolish all the time (trotting away when he wants to graze more or explore, playing, bucking, etc.). This horse healed himself... and taught us how to heal as well. He is so special!!!  Wonderful with children!!!  He's 7 years old, 16.1 hands, bay gelding.

Note from Teri - Metro is a 'doll'! He is such a character & loves attention. He has a big stall, overhead fan, 3 water buckets (cleaned every day, sometime twice!), the best feed & hay, plus his stall opens into a huge attached paddock so he can go in & out as he pleases. The paddock opens via a gate in to a large pasture that he has to himself. His 'companion' is my warmblood mare where they can touch noses over the heavy pole fence separating their paddocks. He usually sleeps outside in the soft ballpark-clay paddock & my mare sleeps across from him in her paddock. He is in his 'forever home' & in 'Horse Heaven'! (I love the fact that he poops outside like my mare does & not in his stall!)
